I have finally installed and tested successfully TAPI and I am able to use the built-in windows dialer program to dial using my phone.
Now I am looking for an application or plugin that will convert any phone number to a link that can be clicked to be dialed.
I need this to work in outlook and in chrome. The rest of the applications are less important.

What is your recommendation?

Outook already has a dialer, open a contact in menu options go to dial and select a phone number, in dial window just select your IP Office TAPI extension in dial options.

If you want to dial from Chrome you must to use a windows tapi dialer and some registry hack to register a URI like TEL:, CALL or CALLTO:

But that is only for the contacts,

But is a phonenumber is showed in an email, that would not work.

Exactly - these are just for contacts.
I am looking for something that adds hooks so that anything that looks like a telephone number has a right click option to dial, or maybe easier add a right click option to all menus to dial when there is selected text.
Does it exist?

Call assistant will allow you to highlight any number and dial with keyboard shortcut. If it can be copied to clipboard it can be dialled.

For Chrome, Communicator for web works quite well.

@TheSmash, Does it work with TAPI?
If yes, what is their website? When I do a search I find various things with that name and not exactly doing what I need.

Call Assistant is an Avaya app for Windows which installs via the One-X Portal website. So if you have an office worker or Power User license you can use it.

Communicator for Web is a WebRTC client (also Avaya) which highlights telephone numbers in a browser allowing you to click to dial.

The former works in all parts of the Windows OS including applications such as Outlook, the Latter is just in a browser.

It is all documented.

Thanks - one more question, Will this work with TAPI?
I am asking because we are not using One-X

You can use ItelPopFREE for free, this app works with IPO TAPI driver and you can copy to clipboard and call any phone from its icon in notification area or with programmable Dial Hotkey.

Is there a manual for how to configure and use ItelPopup?
I installed it. It finds my extension, which I have checked to use. Configured a hotkey but nothing happens when I select a number and click the hotkey combination. Tried different hotkeys- same result. I must be missing something....
