Hello,
My coworker restored files from old tapes. After the restore job finished, all the tapes went to scratch pool! These tapes were pulled from off-site storage and should never expire. This is dangerous since we never want to have these tapes be overwritten. They have been ejected. The NETBACKUP version is 6.5.4 on Redhat 4.

Thanks in advance for any input!

Clearly, something expired them.

Anything in the admin log. I'd search for bpexpdate and then grad the pid of the line, and grep that pid from the log.

Additional tip, until reason found, any tapes you need to restre from, physically write protect them first.

simply, change vmpools and media hosts for tapes, and check it after few days
