Tapes Renamed? 1

Is there a way to make Arcserve leave my tape names alone?

The tapes get renamed overtime a backup is run. Anyone know where a setting for this is located.

ARCserve will format the tapes during a backup and give it the date...

this is by design

Then why does it name them all the name of the tape that I created the job with?

create your jobs addressed to the groups and not the tapes..

If you go into modify job, in the destination tab where it says media just put in a * it leaves the tape name alone and writes to whatever media is in the drive.
