Hello there. I'm a Photoshop veteran, but an Illustrator noob... Well, I have a stroke like this

(ignore the odd coloring, Imageshack did something strange to it) but all I know how to do is stuff like this

(Ignore the crappiness of the second line.) So basically, I need the line to come to one point at the ends of it. Thanks for reading my dilemma!

In the "Strokes' palette you can choose what kind of end you want to your stroke.

Or you can use different brushes in the brush palette to choose types of stroke.

Or draw a rectangle (a very thin one!), use the options in the pen tool to add points, then use the direct selection tool (white arrow) to move them to get the shape you want.

It's a bit tricky but it will work. If this doesn't make sense let me know and I'll try and be clearer!
