I want to make a fishing rod that is tapered. In the past I have made up to 10 different size strokes to accomplish the tapered effect. Is that a way to taper a single stroke?

Draw a rectangle, use the transform tool to taper one end, bring it down the correct thickness, make an art brush out of it, and apply that to a stroke.

and can I Ach it after that is done?

Thanks for the help by the way

I didn't quite understand the question... What's "Ach"?

Sorry. After I make the taper can I arc (Bend)the taper??

Mr:

You can apply the brush to any shape path, and it will follow the path.

1. Make the taper;

2. Drag the tapered shape onto the Brushes palette;

3. Choose "Art Brush", leave everything default for now;

4. Select a path, and apply the Art Brush to it by clicking on it in the palette;

5. Shape the path any way you like, make the stroke bigger or smaller to vary width, etc.

I must be very slow. I thought I followed your instrutions but still can not get the taper to for an arc.

Is there any way to make it more easy for my mind???

I finally got the taper. How do I fill the inside of the taper with a color?
