Hi

Can anyone explain why the volumes in my 3592 library show as full when they aren't ?

I've pasted a screen shot of my volumes - q v stg=onsite:

C08319 ONSITE 3592_1C 510.3 G 45.0 Full
C08372 ONSITE 3592_1C 594.5 G 28.7 Full
C08444 ONSITE 3592_1C 547.6 G 24.4 Full
C08454 ONSITE 3592_1C 539.9 G 23.2 Full
C08460 ONSITE 3592_1C 601.5 G 56.5 Full
C08635 ONSITE 3592_1C 553.5 G 43.8 Full

As you can see some are 45% utilised but full another is 24.4% utilised but full - doesnt make sense to me....... Can anyone shed light on this ?

The tapes were full at one point, then data expired. If you run reclaimation at 70% (upd stg onsite rec=70) it should move that data around and all your tapes that are 30% or less and marked full will become scratch - beware that you will be using 2 tape drives. So yes.. at one point they were 100% filled.. (Hope I explained it ok)

Hi probablydown (good username!) thanks very much for this I was very very worried about this as we have thousands of tapes at this status (massive estate) reclamation has been started so these should dwindle - we have a lot of tape drives available so 2 is not a problem. Thanks again.

hehe.. thanks... If for whatever reason that doesn't work post here again and we can toss around other ideas (maybe you are using colocation etc...)

Good luck..
