Hi,

I'm running Netbackup Datacenter 4.5 FP3 on HPUX 11i with a 680 slot DLT tape library. I'm not completely out of slots.

Is there any software available that would allow me or my operator to run and eject tapes that are full and not due to expire for a while, and more importantly, when to import the ejected tapes back into the tape library to be reused? What is the possible cost?

Thanks,
Pete

I am not aware of any readymade software, but we use our own scripts with the bpmedialist & vmchange commands to filter and eject the full tapes from the library.

Sekhar.

As I see it, Skehar's solution is the only way to do it.
The library doesn't know if the tape is full or not.
If your library is a StorageTek L700 they have software to manage the library, but they also can't know if the tape is full or not. (from what I know)
