Hello All,
I recently changed the password for our backup user, I modified ArcServe to use the new password. However everytime I start the tape engine I get the following error recorded on one of my DC's
Source: Security
Event ID: 675
Description
Pre-authentication failed
User Name: Backup
User ID: Domain\Backup
Service Name: krbtgt/Domain
Pre-Authentication Type: 0x2
Failure Code: 0x18
Client Address: 192.168.54.2
However the backup is completing succefully ?
I have checked the failure code and it relates to:
Possible Cause
The wrong password was provided.
Resolution
1, Try authenticating again. it is possible that the password might have been incorrectly entered.
2, Verify that the time on the KDC matches the time on the Client
I am not getting any w32time errors on any of the servers, therefore I belive that the time sync is ok.
I have also reset the password on the backup server in the following locations
Server Admin
-> BrightStor ARCserve Backup System Account
-> MS SQL User Account
Also reset the account password and verified on all the backup jobs.
I then start each engine in turn and the error always occures when the Tape engine is started.
I have also checked the services and they are all running as Local Services.
I have gone through all of CA options but cannot seem to find any other place to reset this password.
Does anyone have any ideas?
