Tape engine in continuous update mode

Anyone have any idea why my tape engine gets in a continuous update mode. I can not stop the engine or the task. I can go to services and stop the tape engine but then I can not restart it-it says it already exists. When I try to execute the kill command, it says access denied. I am accessing via Arcserve manager from a remote location. Please help! Thanks

Ditto. This happens to me too (along with a long list of other things that has me frustrated as heck with this product) and I really wish someone could reply with some info.

Glad to see I am not alone. Just to compare with each other, what kind of server, scsi card and driver and tape drive are you using?
