Tape Drive "Off Line"

I am getting "Off Line" status under the device tab for my tape drive. I cleaned the tape drive and put an new tape in. I am using BE 8.5 on Exchange2K on an HP Server. I have this problem on 3 of 4 servers. Cannot find any help on this from Veritas, any suggestions?

If the tape drive worked before, I would suggest turning off the tape drive, shut down the server...restart both, and see if it comes back online...blonde

You may also try removing and re-adding the drives. Use the configuration wizard if need be.

I reinstalled the software from scratch and I can 'see' the drives now. Thanks!

You can also pause then unpause the tape device. This will also put it back online.
