Hey guys

Im currently setting up a tape drive using dds3 compression (need to backup up 10 gigs!) and i was wondering what the following combinations stand fro in /dev/rmt/

0cbn and 0cn

I understand that c stands for compression and i think n is for rewind, but what does b stand for?

Thaks for you time! Sproosy MCP

Keep it real!

Hi Sproosy,

the b indicates the device should exhibit BSD behaviour - read the man page for mtio for details (about 38% through the document). Regards.

Hi "b" is for compatibility with the previous semantic that was BSD behavior.
