tape drive prob

additional problem to solve:

my external tape drive LEDs (all left side) keeps on flashing, non-stop and once tape's in - system can't see the drive, but hwmgr shows it is connected.

any help/feedback is appreciated.

Had the exact same problem on a DLT device yesterday. Unfortunately, after consulting the manual and HP, it had to be replaced with a new unit :(

is there a way to detect if this is really a defective device? it is working a week ago, after detaching it from the server itself - after shutting the system down? we found out that thing is not working after re-connecting it to the system. it's connected securely. :( ?
