Hi,

Please can you help with the following situation.

I have a customer having problems installing drivers for a AIT 2 Tape Drive.

When using the tape devices option in control panel and adding more drivers it just sits there and freezes.

You do get as far as selecting the driver files but after that it you can only close the tape devices screen by "end tasking" rundll32.

The server is Windows NT 4.0 SBS SP6.

The DDS3 Tape drive they have works fine they are just in need of a bigger capacity drive.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Is it possible that you have already replaced the old drive with the new one, thus causing a driver conflict? Try the following;
- Add the new driver when the current tape drive is connected to the server.
- Once the driver has loaded, shut down the server, remove existing tape unit and plug in the new one
OR
- Add new drive to the existing SCSI chain and install the driver.
Hope this helps
