Tape Cleaning button is grayed out

My Dell DLT7000 tape drive is highlighting the clean tape area and my ArcServe application asks that I clean the DLT drive.

When I put the cleaning tape in the DLT drive I get the following message:

"Unrecognizable media" my cleaning tape button on my tool bar is also grayed out.

Any ideas what is wrong and how I can clean the drive if my cleaning tool bar button is grayed out?

Are you sure you have the proper cleaning tape model for your tape drive?

DLT drives recognize cleaning tapes by themselves. If a cleaning tape is inserted, the drive will start a cleaning cycle. If the drive doesn't clean and ARCserve log says it is trying to read the tape as if it was a data cartridge then LolaRed might be just right and you are using cleaning tapes that the tape drive cannot handle.
