ArcServe 11.5 SP4 : Is there a limit on how long the tape barcode label can be? Otherwise I cant figure out what's causing this:
Got two different types (DLT and LTO3) of tape libraries with barcode readers. I have serial numbers which is 11 numbers long (business requirement). The same serial number is printed as the tape label, and the barcode is read with no problem. On the LTO3 I can check directly on the library screen that it reads the barcode right - all 11 numbers. Then I do a quick inventory and ArcServe drops the last 3 numbers, so barcode label 12345678901 is shown as 12345678.
Checked Arcserve and it assigns the serial number right; if I dont attach the barcode label and do a regular inventory, it reads the serial number from the tape - all 11 numbers.
