My Configuration:

NetBackup 4.5 MP 4
Solaris 8
L700 with IBM Ultrium tape drive (IBM Ultrium-td1 Class 3580) (FC drive)

Veritas's compatability chart shows for this type drive that Tape Alert is supported.

However I receive messages stating : Tape Alert not Supported on IBMULTRIUM-TD1.

Is anyone using a similiar configuration having the same problem?

Thanks

As you are running on Solaris, I have a question for you: Are you using patches provided by Veritas or by Sun??
Sometimes Sun's patches are a little behind Veritas patches releases.

Check if you have the latest "exteral_drive_mappings" files from Veritas, and if not, try to update it.

I'm having this exact problem with a SAN media client. I'm running with the same st.conf from the master server that works fine, also Solaris 8. I have 2 other aix SSO media servers that work fine.

This is weird... I'll report back when we figure this out.
