Ive drawn a brain fart. I have networked several BCMs successfully using CDP with calls going thru the private network. I have also setup tandem dialing between the systems by creating routes with 91+area code. The issue i am running into is that I can set a phone to call forward from site A(91228) to site C (91972) the call tandems thru site Cs PSTN just fine. When I dial that same # from Site A 91972 the call times out after the 5th digit.
Any ideas?

Try using BCM Monitor to isolate where the call fails.

From your explanation, I really have no idea what your dialing, where it is going, what type of route it uses, what type of service, etc.

SIP trunking between the two systems. Both Private received digits is 4 with CDP. 91 is used for tandem dialing so that a LD call from Site A (91228) to any number in the area of Site B (91972) will route thru the voip trunks thru Site B PSTN and visa versa

Gateway Site A route: 91972 VOIP Trunk: BlocA(Route1)
Destination Code 91972 use Route 1
91228 Pool A
Gateway Site B route: 91228 VOIP Trunk: BlocA
91972 Pool A
Destination Code 91228 use Route 1

Remote package for both sites is set for Pool A.

I can call forward a phone from Site A to any # using 91972 and the call is routed thru the SIP trunks and routed out of Site B PSTN fine.

The issue is when i pick up a phone in Site A and attempt to actually dial the same # i call forward to it fails. BCM monitor shows the call failing after the 5th digit and never leaves the premise.

On the destination codes make sure it is set as PUBLIC and not Private.

Also, when doing this, expand the Public DN length when dialing a 9. I would set it to at least 12 digits (9+1+NPA+NNX+XXXX)..

Brewsky is on the mark.
Are you certain when you forward a set, the call is going out the path across the VoiP? The path the forward takes should be no different than the path the dialed call takes.

You need one route for your private calls BCM to BCM, and one route for your public calls, BCM to BCM to PSTN.

If your dialing the number and the call fails after the 5th digit it would appear the set is using a route set to private, assuming you have your private received number length set at 5.

Thanks guys. Yeah I had both systems up using BCM monitor and when i call forward a phone from site A to an external # in Site B the call comes in and out of Site A Voip trunks and into Site B and out of Site B PSTN.

I'll verify the programming .

Thanks
