Tamper with toolbar

I have created a toolbar button with style tbrDropdown and some buttonmenu buttons under it.
When i click on the dropdown arrow , the buttonmenu appears.
I like to know if I am able to code in the way / or set properties of my toolbar button that when I click on the toolbar button itself the button menu also appears..
