Talkin to a Nortel PBX

My wife has a PowerBook running 10.3.x with VirtualPC (XP pro. I need to communicate to a Nortel PBX using Procomm software (or something simular, Procomm is what I have) this software is not avail in a MAC version.

Has anyone tried to do this using a USB to DB-9 adapter for the com port VIA the VirtualPC.
