talk is not running 1

I have solaris 2.7 system network amd I want to talk from one system to another system.But
when I gives the command talk HOSTNAME(or System IP)it gives the error messages.

[Your party is not logged on]

Can I get some hont about this.

You don't talk to a machine. You talk to a user. So if you enter talk <username> that will work, if the user is logged on.
