I'm running Photoshop CS V8.0.

My issue is that i can never remember how to use the talk bubble custom shape tool. It creates an image that i can initially see but when i try to put text in the middle of it the text stays and the bubble disappears.

What i need to do is i need call outs on two pictures to describe certain areas of the picture. And i would like an outlined call out bubble that i can put text in the middle of... anyone have a good way to accomplish this?

Signed, Very frustrated with this goofy thing!!!

tjc - I'm trying to duplicate your problem - the only time the bubble seems to disappear is when the foreground color is the same as the background color.

what i am looking to do is create a white call out with a black border... do i have to create a black one and them a smaller white one on top of it? I've done this before but it was like two years ago and now i dont remember what i did...

Check your toolbar (right under your menubar). You may have the tool set to create Paths (2nd option). I think what you are looking for is Shape Layers (1st option).

tjc - no don't add a smaller one on top. You can add a black stroke after you get your bubble and adjust the thickness (use the "f" at the bottom of the layers palette or select "layer | layer style").

Did moriaorc's suggestion work - I never would have thought of that.
