Taking ownership of files from a deleted user account

A user cannot connect to his folder on the network, gets access denied error. On the W2k server logged on as Administrator gets accessed denied error on these files. All the permissions seem fine. Under the ownership tab, it says the owner is s-1-5-342-234234-324242 or something close to that. The "change" ownership button is greyed out. Help!! Thanks
 
There should not be a change owner button.
If you got into the Advanced Security properties, then Owner tab, You will see the Current Owner and a box with change owner to. Highlight one of the choices and click the checkbox for replace owner on subcontainers and click apply....
