taking out certain portion of the pic

Hi

Suoppose I have pic of myself. Is it possible to some how take out my pic only , meaning leaving the backgroung behind.
I tried doing it through Magic wand but it did not work. Or is it possible I change the background of the pics like make it white?

once you "cut" a piece out of your pic there will be no background behind it (there will be a hole left)

if you want to replace that hole with the surrounding background you need to use another tool (like the rubber stamp) where you can copy another section of backgroung and paste it over the hole.
