taking input from user for report generation and connecting to db

Hi
I am new to Crystal Reports. The user specifies what fields he/she requires in the report. Then the datasource/recordset is connected to at runtime and the report is generated at runtime.

Can anyone help me with regards to this. Am trying to read the knowledge base on seagate site but any help is appreciated.
