I have a client that has four numbers in a hunt group on all of their phone sets but requires that one number not be available on two extensions.
How do I take that one number out so that when the two extensions are used to make or take calls they do not use that one particular line?
Thanks in advance for the assistance
Dan

Remove the line entirely, with Line Assignment, #310-(Ext. No.)-(Line No.)-2

Restrict access to the line with Line Access Restriction, #302-(Ext. No.)-(Line No.)-4

Thank you TouchToneTommy
So by doing the #310 that will disallow that one extension from grabbing it and using it for out bound calls or for receiving inbound calls?
The issue is that the client is a Pharmacy and they have a doctor's line and it needs to be accessed by all the sets at pharmacy but they don't want it accessed by the prescription fulfillment area. So those extensions will never be able to answer that line unless transferred and will never be able to use the line for outbound calling.
Thanks for the response.

If you remove the line from a set via #310, they can access for outbound by dialing Intercom, 8, and the line number (line 01, or 02, etc). Good luck for your average user knowing that. They can have that line transferred to them, and it will ring to their Intercom button, which will act like the line button for the duration of the call (allowing them to put it on hold or transfer it yet again.) They can answer it by dialing Intercom 6, 8, and the line number while it is ringing (again, good luck on them knowing how to do that).

If you leave the lines assigned to the phones, you can use #302 to restrict access to the line, options are No Restriction (default), In Only (they can answer it when it is ringing or on hold, but not access it for outbound calling), Out Only (the opposite, they can call out on it, but no answer it), and No Access (they can see the line light up, but can't answer it, pick it up from hold, or access it for outbound calling)

TTT #310 is VMS cover. I think you are talking about #301 line assignment.

Many thanks to all. I will try this and see if that works for the client.
Best Regards
Dan
