Taking a long time to print

Running Win XP, on Sony Vaio. For some reason jobs sent to my printer are taking a long time to start to print. HPphotosmart 1215. This just started within the last few days. HELP. Bill/G

USB, on port DOT. This problem just started. Iam not sure what caused the trouble. I have run some upgrades on XP and McAfee programs, other than that nothing different.
