Take too long to receive reply when pinging names.

Our e-mail system has been acting a little weired. I did a pinging to our exchange server with IP address and got reply immediately. However, when I ping the name it tooks a lot longer to receive the reply. And of course I experienced same problem when pinging any other computer name on the network. I know this problem is inside our network. Because when I ping outside domain name, no problem at all. Is this something wrong with our WINS server? Name resolution is having problem? Or the route?

Anybody has any idea? Would really appreciate!

I apologize to post this thread as I just found out that DNS was enabled on my PC. Name resolved fine after disable DNS.
