ur DC DNS should be internal DNS, not your ISP, being said, your workstation should point to DC DNS , not ISP DNS.

Right but i need the the DNS server setup to send the request to my ISP DNS correct?

Josh Williams

Your DC should point to itself in it's network properties.

You should have your ISP's DNS servers as "Name Servers" in your forward lookup zone in your DNS setup.

All clients then point to your internal DNS (your DC) in their network properties.

Right thats how its setup
the dc dns is 127.0.0.1
But i cant seen to get the fowards setup correctly thats what i need help with

not 127.0.0.1...
it's actual network IP address!!!

get the DC to refer to itself, its actual internal LAN IP address, and it will be able to register it's DC services with DNS.
check and see if your DNS zone is dynamic, if not, make it so!

generally, it's better to have your zone AD integrated too... but his depends on how many DNS servers you have...
