Howdie all and happy Wednesday (kind of)

TAG a DDI and the data is presented (TAPI) as 'CallData' happy here..

Send a DDI to a VM:group --> end to 'Transfer' and now? I need to set the destination .. what's best?
Source of Transfer (Displayed on Phone) results as 'Caller Name'
Ideally I would like to have it displaying a TAG .. so that TAPI also sees it as 'CallData'

Any suggetions?

Intrigrant I have followed your advise and progress shall follow thank you

The fields VM Pro has available for such actions are non-configurable, only ICR can manipulate the Tag field :)

Aye,
we're going to use a ## to search for matches.. this way will pick up on either :) Happy

Question.. if I want to play specific announcements per individual TAG.. You or Intrigrant suggested.. any chance of an explanation?

Leo

There's two display fields in the VMPro transfer actions, Source of Transfer and Description, so play with both, one may map onto the IP Office tag value.

Also the manuals say that the variable $TAG exists and is editable. So yes, you can test its value to play different announcements to calls and you may also be able to change its value before a call is sent back to the IP Office.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

I wonder when that was changed? I'm almost sure that wasn't available...or I've just forgot...why aren't I wearing any trousers? :)

Although badly documented the variable $TAG exsists since the feature was introduced.
In VM Pro you can compare the value of $TAG with any parameter and use a action on a match or no match.
So the TAG is either "Balls"or "Nuts" or something else in a call flow you have:
Start : Compare $TAG with "Balls" > if true play the message "Hi Balls, you driving me nuts" and go on
if false then compare $TAG with "Nuts" > if true play the message "Only balls can drive me nuts" and continue
else play the default message now and continue

thank you very much..
Intrigrant did you mention something about Unique announcements over TAGS at one point?
Can't find it...
Could you explain please?
My next job will be to ease the VM PRO... (uff uff)

Oh well...
Just to let you know: TAG in ICR is presented as CallData in TAPI (Some of you might need this).

"$TAG" works (Get's the ICR TAG) but on the 'Transfer' option in VM PRo, you need to set it under 'Source of Transfer (Displayed on Phone)' and this results in TAPI presenting it as the 'CallerName'.
if you put "$TAG" under Description it doesn'#t work.
So easier to enter the actual TAG of the ICR under Description.. and works a treat :)

Now remains the question.
Yes we don't need many Hunt groups...
But What about ICR's that need a bespoke announcement?
and What about Individual Client's Voicemail?

Leo

You can set the value of $TAG in VM.
Here a lis of all Call Variables in VM Pro.

I would not set the data in the transfer action but I would set is using a generic action just before the transfer action.

Ok I will try it thanks..
but what about playing a unique wav file per tag?

We have a similar customer with 1000 DDI numbers for 1000 customers.
As the group programming is beyond the capacities of IP Office we use tags in ICR and in the generic Leave/Queue/Still Queued actions we use the tags to provide unique wav files to the caller. The path to the wav files is /$TAG/Leave.wav, /$TAG/Welcome.wav or /$TAG/StillBusy.wav
Callers can leave a message which are emailed to a single email address with the tag as identifier.

Then you can serve 1000+ DDI numbers with minimal use of IP Office resources.

here it is.. but I'm stuck

In the Queue and Still default start points I have a unique wav file that plays of a folder.
So for those that I want to use the TAG.. (For Example one Tag on ICR is ##5555) I should create a folder called ##5555 ?
then put a wav file in it.
and the prompt should be /$TAG/file.wav correct? (where $TAG looks at the given tag?

Thank you
Leo

That is one way of getting it to work.
Each TAG needs a separate folder with a .wav file in it were all the .wav files have the same nam.
Alternatively you can use $TAG.wav as a file name then all wav are in the same folder but each .wav file has the name of the TAG.

TAGs can be named or numbered but for the above examples to work do not use OS specific chars like "/", "." etc.

thank you.
Will give it a go.

Have a great day !

DAMN I'm getting stuck still...

I can't select $TAG anywhere.

So if a call is coming to a number with TAG ##7777, in the default start points 'queue' i set the path in entry prompt as folder/$TAG/file.wav ?

please

Or create a file in the default VM Prompt folder named Q##7777.wav and in the Queue generic action set the wav file as Q$TAG.wav

cheers bud,
I'll give it a go

Will let you know :)

Fingers crossed

in the entry prompt I enter Q$TAG.WAV right?
not working :/

Did you try with only numbers and letters? Perhaps the ## breaks it...

HI derfloh yes tried it too..
I set a TAG as 7777
So in the default Start point queue I have the prompt Q$TAG.wav

in the folder : \IPOffice\VoicemailPro\VM\Wavs I have Q7777.wav

Still nothing though :(
