Hello folks. I have moved into a new job and the phone system is Tadiran.I only have experience with Meridian and would like to know how to access the system so I can change things like name displays and time, etc. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I believeyou can access via hyperterm. there should be a connection on the processor you can hook to

that serial port will talk at 8 none 1 at 1200 on procom or dyperterm.. return return 0000 was a usable log in, after that i hope it came with a book... do they still make those? i have one in the basement we used for wireless until we brought the cisco up but haven't been in the program mode for a decade

Connect to the KB0 (serial port) on the front of the processor. Use hyperterminal - connect at 9600, N, 8,1.

Press enter - default password is MCENTER.

Everything else is menu driven.

To change system time, enter "time" from almost any point in the menus
Name changes - command is PLIS, then update and the extn number...

Good Luck

Folks, thank you very much for the reply (apologies for my late response)...I will give it a go.

Hi Phantom7, what country are you in? If UK, drop me a line. I work on Tadiran's in the UK.

Cheers

Well, I don't know about the whole MCENTER as the default. That is not the default.

metballnut, that is the default level 2 password. There is also level 0,1 & 3 passwords. MCENTER stands for Maintenance Console ENTER. Any system anywhere in the world has that as the default, it can obviously be changed but that is what it is the first time thet system is turned on.

That is the level that most engineers use. Level 0 & 1 are used for customer programming eg a receptionist can change names, speed dials, time etc but that's about it. Level 3 is generally only for Tadiran to know but a lot of people know it as there are a lot of useful things that can be done in troubleshooting with that level.
