Tabs being locked out on form

Hi,

Access XP

I have a form with a tab control on it. There are 7 tabs each of which is related to the main parent form.

I have 6 users using the DB. Occassionally and with no noticeable cause it just locks the tabs and will not allow any further editing for 5 maybe 10 minutes - when it will right itself with no action or input from me!

The users can still edit information in the parent form, but if they try on any of the tabs they get a "Could not update. Currently Locked" message

Any ideas why and what the solution might be?

If this is the wrong forum - which one would be better suited?

Many thanks in advance

Steven

Maybe you check the record locking for your database in the Extra --> options --> Advanced. You can set different time-outs and change the type of locking. Probably the best locking would be Edited record (do not have english menu's so I gues this would be the translation).

Simple.what u hef to do is, first, make a blank form and paste the table inside that form. Then, create a button inside the form, and in the on click event, write this code in it, > DoCmnd.Recalc < so each time a user click that button, even on the exact same time, it will que the new data by sequence ( in full hope that the difference between those hardware performance will make it slower for the data to be recorded)
Tips : this also great if you are using it in the Access to MySQL enviroments ! ;-)
