Hi

I have this table.
The first row is a single cell that spans across two columns and displays a large image.

The second row has two columns. If I don't specify the width of these columns then it looks like it defaults to 50%. Ideally I'd like the left column to be as small as possible... But I don't know how to do this without risking increasing the size of the entire table. The problem is that I have no idea what the width of the right column will be.

Hopefully somebody knows what I mean?

Any help appreciated.

OK I came up with a fix.
What I did was I set the width of my table to 100% and then put that in another table with a single cell whose width was 1%.
Then I changed the width of the left column in the second row to 1% and the right to 99%.

It seems like there has to be a better way though...
Can anyone think of a more elegant solution?

Can you simply specify only width of a left column in pixels? (no table and right column width, no nested table).

I considered that, but I'm worried that some people have changed their text size and this would result in a different width for the left column
