This is an Access 2000 problem but might also exist with 97 and 2003 versions.

I am working on a horrific Access app (VBA) that is written and maintained in Access 97 then converted according to the version of Office existing on the users PC

I received an e-mail where on at least 2 pcs the user runs a query and (I quote)

"then export the file to EXCEL by using TOOLS, OFFICE LINKS, ANALYZE WITH MS EXCEL."

And
"we received the following error: Table 'TempMSysAccessObjects' already exists.

This then kicks us out of Access and we must restart"

I can locate this error message as it relates to Repair and compact but not relating to exporting to Excel

I cannot "take up the users time" to try to duplicate the problem on their pc, I Have not been able to duplicate it on my laptop and need to "Fix it so it never happens again"

The work around I found on the Microsoft site for repair and compact would not be acceptable to the powers that be

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Figured out a solution. Used a macro to run the query after deleting the temp table if it exists.

Now all I have to do is wait and see if it crashes on the users pc.

Works on mine, but then it always worked on mine
