Table Relationship Window problem !?!

I'm designing the relationships for a very complex DB. I had my layout almost perfect but then I had to go and change the format of a foreign-key field in my main table. When I came back to the relationship window, the position of the main table had shifted over to the right and up so that the title bar is off the screen with no way to scoll up to it. Since I can't get to the title bar, how do I shift its position back to where I want it and avoid all the dozens of crossed relationship pointers. Is there any way?

Hi,
I've been developing with Access for 5+ years, and I don't use the Relationship Window!!! It isn't necessary, and sometimes it actually gets in the way. I prefer to build almost everything in the Query tool, and set my relationships between the tables there.

gazolba, You are not the only one that has problems with the consistency and stability of the relationships window view.

It is a real pain, but better than nothing.

I assume you're worrying about the 'look' for documentation purposes - because the layout certainly has no effect on the function.
On complex databases I've UpSized the whole thing to SQLServer and used the far better relationships graphics tool in that just as a 'documentation' tool. - But I still rely on working the the Access relationship window for the 'real work'

'ope-that-'elps.

Don't you just love it when you report a problem and some jerk says "you are the only one that has that problem"! Well how could you possibly know? I may be the only one that has reported it and it could be plaguing thousands of users.

Now I have another problem with the relationship window. I have a table that is invisible in the relationship window (because the title bar scrolled off the screen and I could not get rid of it except by hiding it) but it appears in the printed relationships. Since it does not appear in the designer, how do I get rid of it from my print? If I try to add it to the relationship window, it is suffixed '_1' so it obviously knows it is already there but it does not show it.

Randysmid,
How do you enforce referential integrity with the Query tool? I'd love to know.

Hi,
This is done through the Join Properties, which can be accessed via the right mouse button (while the cursor is sitting on the line connecting the tables).

HOWEVER that ONLY applies when the particular query is in use.
It is not a good method for ensuring referential integrity over the data during the life of the application.

Do you miss read my earlier post ?

I can't do that on Access 2000. It just allows you to do inner/left/right.

Hi,
ALL of my forms and reports are ONLY based on queries. If I need to get "tweak" the joins, I can do so in SQL view.

That's fine but you can't implement referential integrity unless you use the relationship screen, or issue DDL.
