Access is a relational database that lets you have multiple tables of data, and define a relationship among them. In access you can even select data from multiple tables at once when you build a query. But to do this you need to have a way of correlating data from different tables. This is done by the primary key. A primary key is a unique identifier for each person/object in the database. If that is so way can't I have my six tables linked together as one?

You could put all of your data into one table as long as all of your relationships are one to one. If you have a one to many relationship - that would cause duplicates which would not be permitted by the primary key. I would suggest staying with your current table set up and create SQL queries to handle the data for forms and reports.

I can't put all my data in one table, it won't fit(350 fields) second I don't have any data that the same, every field is different.

chubby,

I suggest you keep to one thread with this problem. [thread700-300084] It's easier to help if we can see each other's responses. I'm sure LittleSmudge, one of the top experts in this forum, can help if you answer his questions. ;-)

See you there
