Hello all,
Going brain dead and need your help....
Have two simple tables: Projects and Projects Status.
Projects contains the project specific information including project ID, description, etc.
Projects Status contains status notes identified by a status ID. Projects status also has a project ID field.

I would like Projects Status table to look up the project ID from the Projects table.

But when I restructure Projects Status to look up the project id field from the Projects table - selecting project id field from the current (Projects Status) table, the projects table is greyed out. huh?

I know this is relatively simple....but my users have sucked the life out of me for the day....please help.

Many, many, many, many, many thanks,
Onegurl

Is Project ID a key or an index in PROJECTS.DB?
Is the Project ID field compatible on both tables?

Project ID is not a key or an index in PROJECTS db.
Project ID is compatible in both tables (same name, field type, and length).

Should Project ID be a key or an index in PROJECTS db?

Paradox needs a Keyed file in order to do a lookup. If you restructure your Products.DB file and create a key on Product ID you should have no problems VTJ

Tried that....other table is still dimmed and cannot be selected for look up.

Hello all,
Just wanted to say thanks for all your help.

I've checked, double, triple, etc checked and applied the normal table lookup rules. Starting to think there's something else toggled behind the scenes.

This is the only time I have had a problem keying, and linking table lookup. So I'm thinking about redoing the structure from scratch. It will probably take less time to redo than to fix at this point.

Thanks again,
