We are currently running Sage Accpac GL, AP and System manager V 5.4A. We have three companies using the same modules. One of the company encountered a problem when we open a GL batch. After verifying the database, the report came up with 7 errors :

BKJZGL, BKUNMAT, CSOPTCM, GLAVC, GLOFD, GLPJIH - all reporting "record length in table descriptor does not match data file"
and
GLBCTL - error opening the data file

I checked the file and it is present and not set to read only. I ran scandisk and defrag. Still same message.

I restored from a previous backup, now only the GLBCTL message came up.

When I tried to open the batch from GL, it came up with the error "Table GLBCTL not found. Damaged Data, Type E, Source is 15:39:16".

Anybody has any idea regarding the above problem?

Thanks
Andrew

Restore from a prior backup, your data dictionary (DATADICT.DAT) is corrupt.

Can you open GLBCTL in either Btrieve Maintenance Utility or Pervasive Function Executor?

Thanks for the information and quick response.

I did restore from a prior backup and the error still exist. Maybe I should make sure the DATADICT.DAT get copied over. I will try that.

I will try to open GLBCTL from Prevasive - if I know how, and will let you know

Thanks

Andrew
