Can anyone help.

I am currently formatting a number field as \90000. In my table and my form this is working ok showing 90001, 90002,90003 etc. However, when I create a query to view the data, It seems that the 9 is omitted. I can search under 0001, 0002, 0003 but not under the number with the 9 in front. This is causing me serious problems... what am I doing wrong?

Thanks

I haven't verified this, but it appears to me that the 9 is not actually part of the data you are searching through, it is just a format - much like a $ would be. You should search on the actual data value, not the formatting.

MisterC is absolutely correct. When you use a format, the underlying data is not changed, just it's display. If you want to add a 9 onto the front of the value stored you'll have to write a function to do so.
