table duplication

What causes a main table to duplicate itself in the relationship window?
 
I would be very concerned about that. Sounds like Access is becoming unstable.

I assume that you have already done a copmpact and repair, and perhaps a decompile.

I would start with a backup of the entire database.

Then, create a blank db and import all objects into the new dd, and see if you get the same problem.

 
Sorry, I read your post too quickly, thought you said the table was being dup'd in the database window (I've seen that happen with forms).

As for the relationship window, someone (you?) has added the table more than once. If it is not participating in any relationship a second time, you should be able to right click and hide it.

 
The usual explanation of this behaviour is a self-join relationship.
