Thank you for your time.

I have a form that looks at a query, which of course looks at a table. In the table I have a field that is set to the text datatype with a default set to 2004/2005. It looks fine in the table, but in the query and form the default shows .999501495513.

Same situation, I have a field in the table set to Yes/No and the default is set to "No". In the query and form, the default shows as 0.

Help! Thank you again for your time.

hmmm...I added two fields to a table, one with TEXT type and data = "2004/2005", default 2004/2005 as well as "=2004/2005" and in both a query and a form it showed up exactly as that. Obviously the query and form are actually dividing 2004 by 2005, considering this a mathematical calculation. Without seeing your query or form and how you have them set up, I can't help any more than that.

The DEFAULT property for a form is not set unless you type it in. I suggest you make the DEFAULT property for each item be what you want.

As for the Yes/No field, is it a Yes/No type in your table? Or a TEXT type? When I made it a Yes/No type in the table, but displayed it as a text box on the form, it reported as 0. However if I make it a Yes/No checkbox on the form, it displays it as either unchecked or checked.
