I am working with form that, when changed, will update one field of a query as it should, but not another field of the same query or the table from which the query is based upon. The query is only updated after it is closed and reloaded.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Forms do not update queries. They update the record source underlying the query. The only way you will not update a member of an underlying recordset is to define that element on the form as unbound. Get its vale in the on current event of the form, and then update that one particular field using the forms after update event. Personally, I think your design is flawed, but you asked for a methodology and now you have one.

Perhaps it would be helpful if you could provide the reasons for this idea,
