Hi All,

I am having a problem with a form that sets up a report(invoice). I use a cursor to gather info to print on the invoice and want to display the line items on the form with textboxes to enter additional charges to go on the invoice.

All of this works fine (because of much help from this forum!) except that I want to display the line items on the form. Since the line items can be from 1 to any number, usually not more than 3 or 4, I don't want to take up to much form space with the display area. I am trying to use a grid to scroll if more than 3 items are showing.

Problem: These users are 'data entry pros' who do now want to have to use the mouse to click from the grid. How can I cause a tab or enter to move from the grid but at the same time allow scrolling if necessary. Or should one have anything to do with the other?

Should I be using another means of displaying my line items (they aren't allowed to change anything)?

I'm paddling around in circles here. Paddling because it rains every day.[smile]

Welcome and appreciate any suggestions.

Hi!

I've decided to just skip over the grid with the tab order, causing the next step in finishing the order to be in focus. User can see line items and move on. If they need to scroll, I just realized they will be using the mouse anyway and have interrupted the keying. If this makes any sense, I'm just trying to close thread for anyone coming later.

I am very aware of that because so many times I go back to older threads and read about a solution to the very problem I am having. Wonderful stuff!!

Glad you came up with a solution. Just for future reference, CTRL+Tab gets you out of a grid.

Judi,

If they need to scroll, I just realized they will be using the mouse anyway and have interrupted the keying.

Also, if they need to scroll, they can use arrow keys and PgUp/PgDown.

Tamar, Stella,

Thanks for the input. I am pleased with how it is working, but will keep these points in mind for future use. I am dealing with some 'mouse haters' here. [smile] They are good at what they do, tho.
