I'm using crystal reports 11 and I have a report I need to export to a tab separated file. This of course places quotes around my string values which cannot be there. I've seen some old posts on this but nothing recent. Is there a setting for this or a way to correct via formula? I'm trying to connect this report to BOE and have it auto run so I would prefer not using 3rd party programs to take out the quotes unless it can be done without manual intervention.

I had this problem before, I ended up writing some VBA code in Word to strip out the quotes.

Hi Jst3000

Not sure if this would help - you could export to csv file using tab separators and no delimiter.

One probblem may be file type, but it is easier to change the file/ext type than the contents of the file.

Regards
Pete

export your report to CSV
in the option box that appears remove any characters for the delimiter
in the next option select tab instead of comma
works like a peach!

Unfortunately CSV is a peach that will not export a subreport and also creates blank rows that are not there with a tab separated.
