Hi Gurus

I want to automatically run a report on daily basis against an Oracle8i database (on Solaris 2.7)table which will write an output to a text file in tab delimited format. Should I have to use any particular software to do that, like Crystal Reports or can I use Sql*Plus to do that? If so how?

Quick response is appreciated.

You can do it with sql/plus and a bit of sed/perl/depends on your platform wizardry.

Have a look for "flat file" in the sql/plus help - there're instructions
Mike
michael.j.lacey@ntlworld.com
<a href= Cargill's Corporate Web Site
Please -- Don't send me email questions without posting them in Tek-Tips as well. Better yet -- Post the question in Tek-Tips and send me a note saying "Have a look at so-and-so in the thingy forum would you?"
