I caused my voicemail to quit working properly on Extension 107.

It has to do with a setting I made in Port Service
I want the phones to ring 3 times before the auto-attendant takes over.
That will allow us time to pickup.
I changed that in Port Service, Day Mode Menu (228), Delayed Answer Time = 15s
To my surprise, this setting affects Voicemail on extension 107
causing this problem:
I usually dial 107#6*998 to access admin but now I have to use 108
If I call 107 from extension, I get an immediate long busy tone that repeats every 2 seconds
If I wait, the tone is repeated for about 15 seconds (sound familiar?)
Then I can enter #6*998 and gain access to the general mailbox

Can anyone tell me a better way to delay the Auto Attendant for incoming phone calls without screwing up the Voice Mail port 1 (Ext107)?

Thanks in advance

JB

use flexible day ringing and delayed ringing of ext 107 put port service back the way it was ...

The problem is hangups. I want to know who is calling and hanging up.
Thanks for the idea though. If I don't delay AA, then the Oper cannot see who is calling prior to caller choosing an extension.
Can a panasonic TA824 log the CallerID on the COs? Looks to me like it only does extensions.

you can use delayed ringing and see whos calling b4 it goes to voicemail and if i were you i'dd plug smdr into a pc and capture smdr with a program like MFTlogger
