I have two handsets and only one will register. I have a cat5 insert with digital extensions on the 1&2,3&4 wires. Anyone know the wiring scheme?also the base unit has tcm 123 lit up.

After you register the first handset, unplug the base, plug it back in leaving the reg switch on and try to reg the other handset remembering it needs to be set to id 2 or 3. That should do it.

just a side note, when in doubt RTFM. (read the frigging manual)

I've done all that, I have both handsets registered. I have three extensions connected. But only one handset connects to the Ksu while the other handset will not connect to ksu

Looking at the rj45, from the left pin 1,2 is tcm1 pin 3,4 is tcm2 pin 5,6 is tcm3 and pin 7,8 is tcm 4. match the colors, if it is 568a the green pair is tcm 1, if it 568b the orange pair is tcm1.

just a side note, when in doubt RTFM. (read the frigging manual)

I've got 1:2, 3:4, 5:6 all connected to there own extensions. But only one will connect. I've also tried changing it from port 2 to port 3. Still saying "no link to ksu

Try a desk set on the ports to makes sure they are working, what system and port numbers are you connecting to?

just a side note, when in doubt RTFM. (read the frigging manual)

are the ksu indicator lights lite green on the transmitter? the handsets do not need to be registered for this to occur. if there is no indicator light there is no connection to the ksu. past expierence has been an rj45 plug issue. im sure you know there is a set up sieres u have to follow for each handset. the dip switches on the back have to be set for registration. the rj45 plug needs to be disconnected. then the transmitter unit needs to be powered down then powered up for each handset registration. good luck!

I like to be redundant.

Test a phone on each of those ports. I've been stung by restricted (4x8) sw all too often in the past.

telesco answered my question in some other thread but answer was:
It's on ports 414,415,416,on an MICS

So appears to be on the 2nd 0X16
That rules out CICS on non expanded ports.

But does sound like an issue with the ports on KSU.

Second 0x16 is correct, I've tested a phone on each port and they test good. My base station shows green light for TCM 1, orange lights for TCM 2 & 3.

From left to right going with 568B I have TCM 1on orange/white white/orange, TCM2 white/green white/blue, TCM 3 blue/white green/white.

If you are using a straight-thru 568B cable, and tcm 1 is pins 1-2, tcm 2 is pins 3-4, etc., would not your color code be:

tcm1, pins 1-2, WHT/ONG, ONG

tcm2, pins 3-4, WHT/GRN, BLU

tcm3, pins 5-6, WHT/BLU, GRN

How is the 8p8c wall jack punched out for the pairs ?
