T7406E - Ringing and keypad beeps

I received a T7406E from a user who claims the audio for the ringer and the keypad beeps is gone. I checked the usual settings and they are all correct. The handset does not ring or have keypad beeps when enabled. The light on the corner flashes when an incoming call is ringing, but no audio. If I want to change a ring type or volume using the function key I cannot hear the changes. Vibrate does work, but no audio from the speaker. What's wrong with this handset? It is only 75 days old.

Might have been dropped.
Fully inspect the corners for abrasion or dents.
or the speaker solder simply gave up.

In the options of the phone it self is an option ringer voulme.

The solder joints on the speaker to mainboard were notoriously fragile on the companion sets. I'd definitely check them out if they're not under warranty, and the ringer volume is turned up on the sets.

The entire phone is fragile. One must be extremely careful when opening these phones as the plastic screw holes easily strip and then won't go back together.

That's true of all Nortel sets, and most other brands, too. I wonder how much it would affect the cost per set to put metal nut inserts in the phone case.
