I am installing two base stations and six phones overall. Four on the first base, two on the second. I have everything programmed ( BCM 450 ), wired out to the base stations. I assigned the unique ports for the phones and registered them all. I cannot get any of them to work. The display will say " cannot find base station " or something like that. What am I missing? I plan on going back with a T7316 and checking to make certain I have dial tone on all the pairs.

Yes I put the switch's back to normal mode. I even tried the Band A and Band B set up.

Some other tips

-One thing people do wrong is wire out that RJ45 on the back as if it was a data jack when its not.
Do not not start in the middle and work your way out.
First 2 pins on the left is pair 1, next 2 pins is pair 2 and so on - LEFT11223344RIGHT

-Also when adding more than 2 phones to a base , never use the single RJ11 jack.

-Only send the SS code from Handset 1 to base, the other 3 on base just enter password only.

I cannot recall is applies to both e and non e series.

The actual manual is 64 pages roughly and does not come with the unit.....should be on Avaya site.

I think you guys are on to something. I wired the first base station as follows, crossw-wired to station cable, white/blue blue/white, dial tone 1, white/orange orange/white, dial tone 2, white/green green/white, dial toine 3 and white/brown brown/white dial tone 4. The station cable end was a Cat5 jack which was already wired by the customer's cable vendor. I am a bit confused on how it should be wired.

LOL! I am one. Been in the business over 20 years. ;)

Depending how the other end of customer cable (phone/server room) is wired depends what you need to do.
Using patch cables and baseboard jacks to convert can help.
i.e. in server room patch it to a baseboard jack then from the jack wire it to the KSU as needed.
