I seem to be having problems with a base unit for the T7406e.I have 2 handsets and can't seem to get them to register to the base unit. Customer is getting mad because of the difficulties of diagnosing the problem. I’ve tried everything I can think of to get this to work. At this point I am assuming the base unit has flaked out .Any tricks in trying to get this to work or should we just order another base unit and be done with it.Thx.

Have you read and followed the 64 page installer guide that DOES NOT come with the product?
You have not listed what you have tried or what errors you are getting.
Number one tech support issue I get from techs is they forget to wire it right where if looking at the RJ45 jack on the back of the base you put one pair on the first two pins for handset 1 and next 2 pins for handset 2, not pins 4 and 5 for hanset 1.
Also if adding the 2nd hanset you must move the wiring from the RJ11 (handset 1) over to the RJ45, in other words 2 or more always on the RJ45.

the unit was already up and working for about a year and the customer claims it quit working.I did not orignaly install the unit .I have followed the quick guide procedures for setting up the phones to work with the base.Is there more to it ?

If you believe your customer and all this was working before, it's unlikely the sets are the problem which leaves you with either the base unit or the BCM. Of course, I wouldn't discount the idea of someone messing with the phone options either.

Maybe it took a power hit and someone messed with the switch settings on the back of the base. You've read the guide so you know how to set them to allow the sets to register then how to set them back. If that's been done, and the ports for them in the BCM aren't disabled, then by process of elimination you're down to the base. If they've been working for a year then they were obviously wired correctly so that's not the problem either.

Oh, and make sure the sets have the device id set correctly as well.

Good Luck.

Thanks for the replys.Went through the process of reregistering the T7406e s to the base and got it to work.Customer is know happy.
