We have a Norstar Meridian system.

The system version reads SP:30MUM05 DR5 RTP

I am looking for a wireless phone. My phone company tells me the 7406e is not compatible with my current software.

They also say the 7406 is not as good and there are not any batteries available for it anymore. Our floor is only 5,000 square fee with the reception desk in the middle.

Any comments, suggestions greatly appreciated.

Thanks

connect an ATA to the system then you can go out and get any cordless analog phone that you would like.

Thanks for the info but I should have added that this is for our receptionist when she does her walk abouts. I have tried chaining her to her desk but got reported to the authorities ;)

I am looking for a phone with a few programmable buttons like call park, page, transfer, etc.

You can use those features with the ATA. You can also use either Answer DN or just forward her phone to the Analog when she steps away. That way anything that rings to her desk will ring the Analog phone. But if you do choose the 7406 you can still get replacement batteries I've got them from here in the past they are aftermarket but they worked just fine.

Agree with @hawks, get the ATA and use a regular analog cordless. Compare the cost of replacing the T7406 or T7406e with a regular cordless phone.

We use a Panasonic and have programed speed dials on the phone for the frequently used functions (park, page, transfer).

Check out the panasonic CT 14 are DECT 6.0 have had good look and reception with them on the ata.

Thanks for the great suggestions. Don't know why my phone guys didn't suggest it as an alternative.

How do you program the feature button? Do you just type in a capital "F"?

And one more thing. When you say the Panasonic CT14, is that the same as the Plantronics CT14?

So I finally got my ATA installed and a Plantronics CT14.

I have one question that I am hoping you can answer.

I am trying to program certain features (call park, page, etc) into the speed dial.

I am correct in assuming I can't program the flash into the speed dial and that I have to do it manually. If not how do I program the flash into the speed dial.

Thanks

Yes, you need to do each feature manualy and no on speed dial/feature.

Earlier NWS2002 had mentioned that they programed speed dials on the phone for the frequently used functions (park, page, transfer).

That's why I was asking

If I recall when parking calls with an ATA it parks to slot 109 CICS or 125 MICS.

To use a feature you must do Flash then Star (*) plus the feature code.

As for Speed Dial programming that's a question for Panasonic.
But see if you can program *611 for paging as a test.
Then press Talk, Talk again (Flash) then the speed dial.

On the Panasonic cordless phones you just push the flash button when you are setting up the speed dial and it shows up as an "F".

I've never used the Plantronics CT14 though.
